LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-280
THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF STOWELL ROAD
TO ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC
WHEREAS, RCW 47.48.010 gives authority to the county legislative authority to
close roads for a period of time; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for Lewis County to repair scour damage on the bridge
on Stowell Road at milepost 0.57; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to close Stowell Road 500 feet on each side of the
bridge, to all through traffic during the period of such project work; and
WHEREAS, Stowell Road will remain open for local access up to, but not beyond,
the point of closure and alternate routes are available to access residences
beyond the closure.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, pursuant to RCW 47.48.010 and .020,
beginning August 9, 2021, and ending September 30, 2021, Stowell Road
beginning at 500 feet south of the bridge to 500 feet north of the bridge in
Section 12, Township 12 North, Range 1 East, W.M., shall be closed to all through
traffic.

NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners, Lewis County,
Washington, has approved the temporary closure of Stowell Road beginning at 500 feet
south of the bridge to 500 feet north of the bridge, to all through traffic. During the closure
the road will remain open to local access up to but not beyond the point of closure and
alternate routes are available to access residences beyond the closure. Pursuant to RCW
47.48.010 and .020, effective August 9, 2021 through September 30, 2021 that Stowell
Road described above in Section 12, Township 12 North, Range 1 East, W.M., shall be
closed to all through traffic.
