Funding requests
Chief Chris Sweet discussed a request for American Rescue Plan Act funding for the following:
• R-Zero ARC UV-C Light touchless disinfection units ($105,000), which would destroy living
pathogens and could help decrease disinfection time.
• Unit Innovations Premises Enterprise System ($28,425). The system would track who is in what
cell, which cells are isolation cells, etc.
• Informer Systems Schedule Express ($9,691). The scheduling system would help with scheduling
housing unit assignments, etc.
• All-mesh chairs ($2,266 to $3,762) to replace fabric chairs with no-mesh, no-fabric chairs to
increase disinfection capabilities.
Commissioner Pollock noted that the UV-C lights would add additional safety but wouldn’t be a
replacement for cleaning. Commissioner Pollock asked for information regarding the ER and R
requirements for the UV-C lights.
The commissioners said they would postpone their decision until Sept. 8.
Updates on requirements and guidance regarding allocations and reporting: Becky said she continues to
receive updated information. She said the required report for Treasury is complete, aside from the lost
revenue portion.
Chief Sweet and Captain Tawes left at 10:59 a.m.
Todd Chaput discussed the Oct. 1 Legislative Roundtable, during which the EDC will discuss ARPA
projects and funding.
Todd said there have been some delays regarding data for the mapping system. He said he expects the
map to be complete by the end of September. He said scoring metrics will be in place by Sept. 21.
Todd said the EDC has met with the PUD, ToledoTel, Rainier Connect, the state Department of
Transportation, the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Boistfort
Valley Water, the Port of Chehalis, the Port of Centralia, Chehalis, the Chehalis Basin group, the Wester
Federal Lands Highway Division and the state Department of Commerce.
Josh Metcalf said he received two proposals for a consultant. He said he will meet with the potential
awardee and will present the contract to the commissioners for approval.
Becky said she has two additional applications to present to the commissioners. She said she will
attempt to provide read-aheads two days before the next ARPA meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 11:18 a.m.
