2021 Legislative Roundtable: Rieva Lester noted that the event would take place at 9 a.m. Oct. 1.
Strategic plan update: Erik Martin discussed outreach related to the Strategic Plan.
COVID-19: JP Anderson said the county recently sent out its weekly update.

Directors’ Update
Erik Martin discussed a request for proposals (RFP) for a partnership to address broadband gaps in Lewis
County.
Geoff Soderquist discussed a resolution to approve a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project
Prospectus between Lewis County and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) for
the Shorey Road Bank Stabilization Project, County Road Project (CRP) 2159O.
JP Anderson discussed a resolution to approve an SWMLSWFA agreement between Department of
Ecology and Lewis County for Solid Waste enforcement and permitting activities.
Doug Carey discussed a resolution to list the bids received and contractor selected for the Chehalis Ridge
Radio Site Project, #31-167.
Lee Napier discussed a hearing for Ordinance 1329: An ordinance of the County of Lewis, amending the
Lewis County Shoreline Master Program and Lewis County Code (LCC) 17.25 Shoreline Management.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items, three deliberation
items and one hearing to the Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Pollock seconded the motion.
Motion passed 2-0.
Rieva Lester noted there would be at least one late add: a resolution to appoint Carol Brock and Tim
Wood to the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging (LMTAAA) Advisory Council.
Announcements
Erik Martin discussed the two-day Employee Picnic.
Lee Napier said she would attend the Olympia Master Builders (OMB) meeting later in the day. She and
Erik discussed having members of the OMB attend the upcoming Housing Summit remotely.
Real estate discussion
At 9:18 a.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board would be going into executive session
under RCW 42.30.110(1)(b) and (1)(c) for 5 minutes to discuss real estate transactions.
Executive session started at 9:19 a.m.
Executive session ended at 9:24 a.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made.
Doug Carey said he would like to move forward for the Sept. 21 Business Meeting a late add for the
contract award for the Juvenile project.
