2021-09-20 ARPA planningARPA planning September 20, 2021 10 a.m. Present: Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, Becky Butler, Austin Majors, Matt Patana, Todd Chaput, Richard DeBolt, Lara McRea, Brittani Bonahoom, Jonathan Meyer, Tammy Martin Recorder: Rieva Lester EDC update Todd Chaput of the EDC provided the following updates: • EDC will begin sending a monthly recap. He asked for any topics the commissioners would like the EDC to address during the Oct. 1 Legislative Roundtable. • Received Boistfort water overlay. Map should be 85 percent completed by the end of September. • Still working on scoring metric. • Road show is in process. Recently met with Pe Ell, Toledo, Chehalis. • Chehalis, Centralia and Boistfort Water information has been added to the map. Still need data from small cities, the PUD, the airport and the telecom companies. Richard DeBolt said he’d like any topics the county would like brought forward legislatively or for the Oct. 1 Legislative Roundtable. Polco: Becky Butler said the county has met with Polco to address any citizen engagement questions. She asked who should provide signatures for the postcards announcing the surveys. Lost revenue: Becky said she is awaiting guidance from Treasury to determine lost revenue. Funding requests Becky said funding requests have been received from the following: • Prosecutor’s Office • Jail / Juvenile COVID-19 mitigation • Custodial services Jonathan Meyer discussed the Prosecutor’s Office’s request for funding for a records management system. Commissioner Swope made a motion to approve the ARPA application from the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for the Karpel content management system. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Becky and the commissioners said the group would further discuss in the future a request from Jail / Juvenile for COVID-19 mitigation. Matt Patana discussed Facilities’ request for $187,500 in ARPA funding to hire additional staff to address additional cleaning needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioner Swope made a motion to approve Facilities’ application for $187,500 to hire two additional custodians. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Becky said she has reached out to ask for additional tracking for youth services outreach. Meeting ended at 10:44 a.m.
