Approve Amendment A #HRCES2023-A with HRC to Provide Year-Round Emergency Shelter Services BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-436 APPROVE AMENDMENT A #HRCES2023-A BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND HOUSING RESOURCE CENTER TO PROVIDE YEAR-ROUND EMERGENCY SHELTER SERVICES WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed Amendment #HRCES2023-A with Housing Resource Center (HRC) to increase the daily bed rate from $20 to $30, update the language in the "Recitals" section of the MOU, and update Exhibit B language from "up to 15 occupied beds" to "up to 16 occupied beds"; and WHEREAS, these services provide year-round emergency shelter to individuals who are literally or at imminent risk of homelessness in Lewis County; and WHEREAS, this amendment will be effective December 1, 2021, through May 31, 2022; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Amendment #HRCES2023-A between Lewis County and HRC to increase the daily bed rate from $20 to $30, update the language in the "Recitals" section of the MOU, and update Exhibit B language from "up to 15 occupied beds" to "up to 16 occupied beds" for emergency shelter services from December 1, 2021, through May 31, 2022, is hereby approved, and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the same. The COVID-19 Outbreak reduced the number of year round emergency shelter bed units available in Lewis County, due to spacing requirements. These funds are to provide up to 16 shelter beds to replace those beds lost and increase capacity.
