Redistricting: Amber Smith said the county should proceed with its redistricting efforts despite the state
committee’s inability to meet its deadline for redrawing congressional district lines.
Staffing: Jonathan Meyer said the PA’s Office has hired a Civil DPA I.
Broadband: Eric Eisenberg discussed a contract with ToledoTel. He said ToledoTel has requested the
county waive permitting fees for the project. He noted that permitting for the Winlock project must be
completed by June 2022.
Eric suggested having ToledoTel pay the permitting fees and then have the county reimburse ToledoTel
for the fees using American Rescue Plan Act funds.
The commissioners said they support proceeding with allowing ToledoTel to have a three-year period
before it is required to allow open access.
Executive session
At 3:44 p.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board would be going into Executive Session
under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 20 minutes to discuss the following:
• Jaime Beenen v. Skydive Toledo, et al.
• Lewis County Water District #2 v. Lewis County
• Opioid litigation
• Lollipop Guild v. Lewis County, et al
• TransAlta
Executive Session started at 3:45 p.m.
At 4:05 p.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 5 minutes.
At 4:10 p.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 10 minutes.
Executive Session ended at 4:20 p.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Grose made a motion to go with Option 1, as outlined during executive session, in regard
to Lewis County Water District 2.
Commissioner Swope seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
