Inclement weather: The group discussed revising the new inclement weather policy to give directors
expanded authorization regarding building closures. The group also discussed expanding the use of
shared leave to cover inclement weather.
Josh Metcalf discussed the Public Works effort to treat area roads during the recent snowstorm.
Boards and committees: Commissioner Pollock said she would like to fill Commissioner Stamper’s
vacancy on Community Partners. Commissioner Swope said he’d like to join WSAC in the future.
Commissioner Pollock noted she had been appointed to the County Roads Administration Board.
Civil Service vacancy: The commissioners discussed the applicants for the Civil Service vacancy.
Commissioner Grose made a motion to appoint Kevin Ryan to the vacancy. Commissioner Swope
seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Legislative update: Commissioner Pollock discussed an upcoming bill regarding catalytic converters.
Commissioner Swope said another proposed bill would lessen consequences for drive-by shootings.
COVID-19: JP Anderson discussed changes to a decision tree in response to new guidance from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding COVID-19 cases. JP discussed the local testing site.
JP said it appears hospitalization rates from the latest strain are lower but that the spread appears
higher.
Calendars: The commissioners discussed their calendars.
