Appoint three individuals to the Lewis County Planning Commission BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 22-036
APPOINT THREE INDIVIDUALS TO THE LEWIS
COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, there are three vacant positions on the Lewis County Planning
Commission, including one position in District 1, one position in District 3 and one
at-large position; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Code (LCC) 2.11.030(3) states that each vacancy on the
Planning Commission shall be filled by appointment by the Chair of the Lewis
County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) from a list of not less than one
nominee residing in the respective county district of the vacating member; and
WHEREAS, LCC 2.11.030(5) states that members filling vacant unexpired terms
shall serve to the end of the unexpired term and members filling vacant expired
terms shall serve the full term of four years for district positions and two years for
the at-large position; and
WHEREAS, the District 1 position is an unexpired term ending on December 31,
2022; the District 2 position is an unexpired term ending on December 31, 2023;
and the at-large position is expired; and
WHEREAS, Jason Alves, Gretchen Fritsch and Corbin Foster have indicated a
willingness to serve on the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Swope, District 1, has nominated Jason Alves;
Commissioner Grose, District 3, has nominated Gretchen Fritsch; and Chair
Pollock has nominated Corbin Foster for the at-large position; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public interest to appoint the nominees to the
Planning Commission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints three Lewis
County Planning Commission members as follows:
• Jason Alves: District 1, filling an unexpired term that expires on December
31, 2022
• Gretchen Fritsch: District 3, filling an unexpired term that expires on
December 31, 2023
• Corbin Foster: At-large, two-year term that expires on December 31, 2024.
