APPOINT KATHERINE HUMPHREY TO THE LEWIS
COUNTY NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL BOARD AS
THE REPRESENTATIVE FOR WEED DISTRICT 1
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Board of County
Commissioners (BOCC) that there is a vacancy on the Lewis County Noxious Weed
Board, in Weed District 1, comprising the communities of Adna, Curtis, Boistfort,
Pe Ell, Doty and Dryad; and
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Noxious Weed Board faithfully conducted the notice
and application process outlined under RCW 17.10.050(2) and recommends that
Katherine Humphrey be appointed to the Board.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Katherine
Humphrey to the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board, District 1, for a term
of four years ending on March 1, 2026.
DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 1st day of March, 2022.

Commissioner Pollock:
The Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board has a vacancy on its five-member
board.The vacancy occurs in Weed District One, comprising the communities of Adna,
Curtis, Boistfort, Pe Ell, Doty, and Dryad. After a prolonged search for a suitable
candidate, the Weed Board has identified Katherine Humphrey of the Ceres area as an
exemplary resident of Lewis County engaged in the primary production of agriculture,
ideal for the position, and she has graciously agreed to serve on the Board.
The vacancy was published in The Chronicle, in accordance with the process laid
out in RCW 17.10.050(2), on October 7th and 14th, 2021, and then again on December
30th, 2021 and January 6th, 2022.
The Weed Board met on February 15th, 2022, and officially moved to
recommend that Katherine Humphrey be considered for appointment by the BOCC to
the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board, representing Weed District One. Weed
Board members serve a four-year term.

practices. Noxious Weed

Duties of the Board include

Weed list and providing
direction for Weed Board
programs.
Persons interested in ap-
pointment to the Board
shall make a written appli-
cation that includes the
signature of at least ten
registered voters also re-
