Josh Metcalf discussed a notice of hearing regarding a franchise to Northwest Open Access Network, to
install, construct, operate and maintain telecommunications facilities in Lewis County rights of way.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to list the bids received and contractor selected for the Lewis County
Revised Rebid 2022 Liquid Asphalt Proposal.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve a Consultant Contract with Northwest Hydraulic
Consultants, Inc. (NHC) for Design Services for the Shorey Road Bank Stabilization Project, CRP 2159O,
Federal Aid #ER-2101(001).
Lee Napier discussed a resolution to appoint three individuals to the Lewis County Planning Commission.
Connie Riker discussed a resolution to approve an MOU between Lewis County and Washington State
Parks. She said the documentation is not yet ready, so she asked that the commissioners delay moving
the item forward.
JP Anderson discussed a resolution to approve Agreement #22-46108-18 Amendment A between
Washington State Department of Commerce Community Services and Housing Division and Lewis
County to add funds for homeless rapid re-housing services.
The group discussed a resolution to appoint members to the Distressed Counties (.09) Fund / Rural
Economic Development Public Facilities Advisory Committee. The commissioners said they would delay
the resolution and further discuss it during the Feb. 14 Wrap-Up and Feb. 16 Directors’ Update.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items and four
deliberation items to the Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Pollock seconded.
Motion passed 2-0.
COVID-19
JP Anderson provided a recap of the most recent COVID-19 reporting week (Jan. 21-27):
• 827 new COVID-19 cases
• 55 new hospitalizations
• 5 new deaths
JP said the county has received a delivery of rapid tests to distribute locally.
Announcements
Becky Butler said the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) report was submitted to the Treasury on time.
Connie Riker discussed a recent Fair appreciation event. She also noted that the new camping
reservation website had launched.
Wednesday Workshop
WSAC payment: The commissioners approved a $10,000 one-time payment to the Washington State
Association of Counties (WSAC) for its technical support related to ARPA.
Assessor’s Office: Becky Butler said Dianne Dorey is requesting permission to have overlap for a Chief
Deputy position.
Dianne Dorey joined at 9:29 a.m.
Dianne said her Chief Deputy will be out on medical leave through April and will not return thereafter.
She asked for permission to back fill the position during his absence. The commissioners approved the
request.
