Approve and authorize PW Director to sign interlocal purchasing agreement with City of Centralia and Office of the Chehalis Basin for the purchase of parcel No. 003485001003 in Lewis County. INTERLOCAL COOPERATION PURCHASING AGREEMENT
This Agreement is made by and between the City of Centralia, Washington,
hereinafter referred to as the "City," the Office of the Chehalis Basin, hereinafter
referred to as "OCB," and Lewis County, hereinafter referred to as the "County," all
governmental entities established under the laws of Washington State. The entities
collectively shall be referred to as the "Parties." In accordance with the Washington
State Interlocal Cooperation Act, RCW 39.34, the Parties, as public agencies, are
authorized to contract with other public agencies via interlocal agreements that enables
cooperation among the agencies to perform governmental activities and deliver public
services.
WHEREAS, the Parties desire Lewis County Parcel#003485001003 be acquired
for use as open space, roadways, associated structures and utilities, trails, stormwater
retention and easements. All other uses will require the prior written approval of the
Parties; and
WHEREAS, the Parties desire the City act as the purchasing agent to enter into
a Purchase and Sales Agreement in the amount of$557,000.00, and
WHEREAS, OCB shall reimburse the City twenty percent (20%), $111,400.00, of
the purchase price with the City and the County each being responsible to pay
$222,800.00, for a total of$557,000.00; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties do hereby agree as follows:
1. Pursuant to RCW 39.34.030, the parties agree to work cooperatively
together to purchase Lewis County Parcel#003485001003.
2. That the property shall only be used for open space, roadways, associated
structures and utilities, trails, stormwater retention and easements. Any other uses will
require the prior written approval of the Parties.
3. That the City shall enter into a Purchase and Sale Agreement, with OCB
being responsible for paying $111,400.00, the County being responsible for
$222,800.00 and the City being responsible for $222,800.00.
