Emergency establishment of gross tonnage limits on Ceres Hill Bridge No. 102 BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 22-181
EMERGENCY ESTABLISHMENT OF GROSS
TONNAGE LIMITS ON CERES HILL BRIDGE NO.
102
WHEREAS, the County Engineer has discovered severe cracking on the concrete
box girder on Ceres Hill Bridge No. 102; and
WHEREAS, our evaluation has determined that it is unsafe for heavy vehicles to
utilize the bridge; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer has reviewed the damage and recommends that
the bridge be posted at 15 Ton gross tonnage limit to restrict heavy vehicles.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED pursuant to authority of RCW 46.61.450,
that the Ceres Hill Bridge No.102 in Lewis County will be closed to travel by all
vehicles having a gross tonnage in excess of 15 Ton; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the County Engineer is hereby
directed to erect and maintain all necessary signs on or near the bridge pursuant
to RCW 46.61.450 and at such other locations as necessary to provide adequate
advance notice of such restrictions, and upon erection of such signs, the
provisions of this Resolution shall become effective and shall remain in full force.
