Appoint Kathy Chastain to the Lewis County Planning Commission. BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 22-210
APPOINT KATHY CHASTAIN TO THE LEWIS
COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, District 2 representative Stephen Heuffed, who was appointed to the
Lewis County Planning Commission via Resolution 19-333, has stepped down,
creating a vacancy; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County Code (LCC) 2.11.030(3) states that each vacancy on the
Planning Commission shall be filled by appointment by the Chair of the Board of
County Commissioners from a list of not less than one nominee residing in the
respective county district of the vacating member; and
WHEREAS, LCC 2.11.030(5) states that members filling vacant unexpired terms
shall serve to the end of the unexpired term and members filling vacant expired
terms shall serve the full term of four years for district positions and two years for
the at-large position; and
WHEREAS, the District 2 position is an unexpired term ending on December 31,
2023; and
WHEREAS, Kathy Chastain has indicated a willingness to serve on the Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Pollock, District 2, has nominated Kathy Chastain for
the District 2 position; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the public interest to appoint Kathy Chastain to the
Planning Commission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Lewis County, Washington, hereby appoints one Planning Commission member as
follows:
Kathy Chastain: District 2, filling an unexpired term that expires on December
31, 2023.
