Consultant Mackey Smith of Tanner LLC discussed the county’s efforts to create a long-range strategic
plan.
Mackey said he’d like to focus on:
• Vision
• Mission
• Core values
The group brainstormed different words that capture the county’s core values. Some suggestions
included:
• Community – people first, transparency, integrity, honesty
• Collaborative – comradery, inclusive
• Accountability – respect, credibility
• Service-oriented – responsive, relevant, priorities
• Stewardship – personal responsibility, creativity, grit, subject matter expert
• Effective – innovative, seeking improvement
