Susie Palmateer said the accountant specialist position was originally a lower-leveled position at a grade
118. Susie said they are looking to reclassify the position to accountant position at a grade 121. This
would be a budgetary increase of $1,050 for the remainder of 2022 and $4,200 for 2023.
Susie said Superior Court reviews their own contracts. They manage the review of contracts and billing.
This process is changing due to recent changes made by Legislature and will go into effect January 1,
2023. These changes will require the creation of new positions. Amber Smith said the job description for
the new positions are still under review. Human Resources is looking into the access of the Odyssey
Portal / CHAPS reporting, which is key to billing correctly. This would include managing Juvenile, District
and Superior court contracts and billings related to indigent defense. Amber said there would be a
director position and a FTE position.
The Board asked to revisit the accountant position during the Aug. 31 Directors’ meeting after further
review of the position’s information.
Susie said Tracy Mitchell is retiring after 24 years of service effective December 31 2022. The court
commissioner’s salary is 85% of the judges’ salary. Susie is asking to maintain the same salary for the
incoming court commissioner. The court commissioner is an appointed position that deals with family
law.
Commissioner Grose made a motion for the court commissioner’s position to be hired at the 85% of the
judges’ salary and a 1 month succession time period. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-
0.
Meeting adjourned at 11:49 a.m.
