Board Meeting Minutes 10/12/20151 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON BOARD MEETING MINUTES October 12, 2015 The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) for Lewis County, Washington, met in regular session on Monday, October 12, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Commissioners Edna J. Fund, Gary Stamper, and P.W. “Bill” Schulte were in attendance. Chair Fund, called the meeting to order, determined a quorum, and proceeded with the flag salute. Commissioner Stamper moved to approve the minutes of the 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 Business Meeting. Commissioner Schulte seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0. Employee Commissioner Fund stated today is the first weekly United Way campaign donation employee drawing. The winner today is Rieva Lester. NOTICE Commissioner Schulte moved to approve the Notice Agenda item one. Commissioner Stamper seconded the motion. 1. Notice of Hearing: Regarding the 4th 2015 Budget Amendment. Hearing will be held on or after 10:00 am on Monday, October, 26, 2015. Resolution No. 15-286 Steve Walton, Budget Administrator, stated notice of the public hearing will be publiched in the East County Journal on October 14th and 21st. The hearing will be held on the 26th day of October 2015 on or after 10:00 a.m. to consider an amendment on departments within the 2015 budget for Current Expense and various funds. This amendment increases expenditures for all funds in the amount of $3,861,627 with an offsetting increase in revenue in the amount of $3,861,627 resulting in no use of fund balance. Motion carried 3-0. CONSENT Commissioner Schulte moved to approve the Consent Agenda items three and four. Commissioner Stamper seconded the motion. 2. Resolution No. 15-287 Approval of warrants and payroll for payment. Suzette Smith, Auditors Office, stated this Resolution approves 200 regular warrants for a total payment against the County in the amount of $927,960.80. This Resolution also approves 181 payroll warrants and 472 automatic deposits dated October 5, 2015 for a total payment against the County in the amount of $3,297,570.61. 2 3. Resolution No. 15-288 Appointment of a member to the Southwest Washington Fair Commission. Michael Strozyk, Director of Central Services, stated the Board of County Commissioners established the formation of the Southwest Washington Fair Commission under Resolution #08-295 which allows for a commission of seven (7) citizens to advise in the operations of the Southwest Washington Fair and Fairgrounds. Currently the Fair Commission has several vacancies on it. After a formal selection and recruitment process, Tammy Remund was selected for reappointment as a member of the Southwest Washington Fair Commission for a four (4) year term expiring May, 2019. Motion carried 3-0. There being no further business, the BOCC’s business meeting adjourned at 10:09 a.m. on October 12, 2015. The next public meeting will be held Monday, October 19, 2015.
