2023-03-13 HR UpdateHR Update March 13, 2023 11:04 a.m. Present: Commissioner Swope, Commissioner Brummer, Commissioner Pollock, County Manager Erik Martin (arrived at 11:10 a.m.), Amber Smith, Nic Scott (left at 11:20 a.m.), Becky Butler, Steve Wohld (arrived at 11:07 a.m.) Guest(s): None Recorder: Daleyn Coleman Amber Smith and Daleyn Coleman brought up three topics to obtain BOCC desire on regarding the revision to Section 6 of the Lewis County Employee Handbook. 1. Maximum accrual of 240 for non-exempt employees. Commissioner Swope asked that Steve Wohld, Daleyn, Amber, and Becky Butler meet to discuss the excess of extension of time beyond the 240 and budget impacts and to meet with the Auditor’s Office on 240 hour management within the finance system. No decision was made. 2. Tuition lab fees and books. The Employee Handbook workshop committee had asked to entertain the idea of including lab and book stipends as part of the tuition reimbursement program. The BOCC asked the language remain current in the employee handbook. 3. Vehicle stipends. The BOCC was asked to consider vehicle stipends for certain Lewis County employees. The BOCC asked that Amber, Steve and Daleyn team up and provide more detail on how a stipend can provide a potential cost savings. No decision was made. HR will meet with the BOCC again in two weeks.
