Amber Smith and Daleyn Coleman brought up three topics to obtain BOCC desire on regarding the
revision to Section 6 of the Lewis County Employee Handbook.
1. Maximum accrual of 240 for non-exempt employees. Commissioner Swope asked that Steve
Wohld, Daleyn, Amber, and Becky Butler meet to discuss the excess of extension of time beyond
the 240 and budget impacts and to meet with the Auditor’s Office on 240 hour management
within the finance system. No decision was made.
2. Tuition lab fees and books. The Employee Handbook workshop committee had asked to
entertain the idea of including lab and book stipends as part of the tuition reimbursement
program. The BOCC asked the language remain current in the employee handbook.
3. Vehicle stipends. The BOCC was asked to consider vehicle stipends for certain Lewis County
employees. The BOCC asked that Amber, Steve and Daleyn team up and provide more detail on
how a stipend can provide a potential cost savings. No decision was made.
HR will meet with the BOCC again in two weeks.
Meeting adjourned at 11:52 a.m.
