This e-mail is in regard to the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) camp beingproposed in Lewis County. As a citizen if Lewis County I ask that you reject thisproposal. The YMCA of today does not uphold or support any Christian values thatthe organization was founded upon.
The YMCA was founded by George Williams in London, England on June 6, 1844.Mr. Williams founded the YMCA for young men to escape the unhealthy socialsituations in the big cities. Mr. Williams was an Evangelical and believed the YMCAcould provide Bible Study and prayer along with physical activities and job training soyoung men could avoid the awful social conditions.
The organization today does not encourage any values taught in the Bible.
-[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->There have been reported incidents in YMCA locations, where males identifying as females have entered female dressing areas andshowers. When the females reported the incidents, staff accused those women ofbeing bigots and “Tran’s phobia” not taking their concerns seriously.
-[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->The YMCA actively supports Black Lives Matter (BLM)and defunding the police.
-[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->The YMCA supports allowing harmful puberty blockingdrugs being administered young children and forever mutilating their bodies.
-[if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->The YMCA actively supports Critical Race Theory (CRT)which is basically re-writing the history of the United States.
The current YMCA organization does not reflect the values of the citizens of LewisCounty.
Thank you for your time.

Subject: Proposed YMCA rezone
To: Sean Swope, Lindsey Pollock, and Scott Brummer
I am writing to each of you to thank you for denying YMCA's request for rezone
for land near Mineral Lake. In today's culture the YMCA no longer stands for
the promotion, protection and provision of the nuclear family. Supporting strong
family units in Lewis County will pay off big dividends in our future.
YMCA's mission no longer represents Lewis County's families well.
You have rightly concluded their proposed land use is a bad deal for Lewis County
due to the impacts on our roads, water, and environment.
The removal of 2,100 acres of land from our tax base does not benefit the
families of Lewis County. Our emergency services are not equipped to handle
such a large development in such a remote area.
I strongly request you continue to deny this request for rezoning despite the
threat of a lawsuit. As our leaders in Lewis County we trust you and count on you
to represent us well in matters such as these. You have shown us your support
during round one.
Thank you for your initial stand against this intrusion. Please continue to stand
strong.

Subject:YMCA Camp at Mineral Lake
Date:Wednesday, February 8, 2023 8:35:20 AM
Hello,
I would like to email our county commissioners and thank them for their decision to not approve the
YMCA camp that is proposed out at Mineral Lake. I would also ask that they stand with their original
decision and not approve the YMCA camp during the upcoming appeal. I have been a life-long Lewis
County resident and I am currently raising 5 young children in the community. The YMCA has
changed over the years and no longer holds the Christian principles it once had. Their recent stance
to support and focus on gender identity, expression and sexual orientation and the LGBTQ+
community along with the goal of creating “changemakers” is alarming. These ideologies are not
something that I support nor do I want them promoted in our community to our children. I
appreciate the willingness of our board to take hard stances that go against what much of society is
pushing as acceptable. I understand this is not an easy decision, but standing up and fighting for our
children’s wellbeing and safety is something that is always worth fighting for.

I am Johnny Dunnagan and I want to express my concern about the zoning change to accommodate a YMCA
recreation center in Mineral. The YMCA is not the same today as it once was. I strongly oppose there involvementwith our young people with their liberal ideas and policies of today. I ask that the property continue as forest landand zoning is not changed.Sincerely,Johnny DunnaganCentralia, WashingtonSent from my iPhoneJohnnyExternal Email - Remember to think before you click!

Lewis County Board of Commissioners
2025 NE Kresky Ave. Chehalis, WA 98532 February 8, 2023 The purpose of this letter is to again support the YMCA proposal for an overnight camp at Mineral Lake. I spent 27 years as the director of the Cispus Learning Center. During those years I worked with many outdoor learning centers across the State of Washington, including several of the YMCA camps. I have witnessed the value of an overnight outdoor experience in enhancing the social, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth in our youth. Those
experience are truly life changing for many of the participants.
I believe that the camp is transformational. More than ever our youth need that experience. We
need more of these facilities across our state.
Finally, it is my experience that camps are good neighbors, too. I highly endorse the Y’s
request for a rezone.
Sincerely,
Martin E. Fortin, Jr.

Subject:Written Testimony on Ordinance 1343
Date:Friday, February 10, 2023 9:04:20 AM
Hello,
I am writing you today to express my displeasure in hearing that the YMCA desires to bring its presence to
Lewis County, and to ask that you to take a stand against it.
Although the YMCA has been historically known throughout the nation for its work in providing activities
and resources for youth and families, the organization is also becoming known for actively supporting and
championing ideologies that are destructive to our society. The YMCA openly supports the teaching and
acceptance of Critical Race Theory and intersectionality, destructive gender and sexuality ideologies,
dangerous and uninformed “defund the police” movements, and other issues of “woke” propaganda that
only serve to further societal division. Rather than encouraging the equity and community connection that
such ideologies claim to advance, these ideologies only continually result in increased division and
violence, and decreased safety and security. I am adamantly against allowing the YMCA to bring this,
simply through their presence and influence, into Lewis County.
I know I’m not the only one expressing such thoughts, and I trust many written and spoken testimonies are
echoing these same concerns and more, so I ask that you please hear the concerns and join the citizens of
Lewis County in taking a stand against the destructive ideologies that the YMCA would carry into our
community. The only way to stop the infection of such ideologies, is to stop the vessel of transmission from
coming in. The YMCA, and the disease it carries, is not welcome in Lewis County.
Feel free to contact me if you have further questions regarding my concerns. Thank you for your service to
our community!
Respectfully,
Micah Rose
