2022-10-04_PressRelease_CompPlanMapAmendmentsSchedule Press release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lewis County, Washington – October 4, 2022 County to Hold Public Hearing on Rezones and UGA Changes The Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a series of meetings leading up to a public hearing on Ordinance 1337 to amendment to the County’s Comprehensive Plan Map. The ordinance includes seven amendments: rezones for YMCA at Mineral Lake, new surface mine south of Ethel, Adna Grocery Store and De Goede hillside, as well as three urban growth area (UGA) boundary changes for Chehalis – Breen, Chehalis – Westlund-Enbody and Centralia. The public hearing is tentatively scheduled to take place on November 1, 2022 and continue to November 8, 2022. The public will be invited to submit written testimony when the record opens starting on October 18, 2022. Please check the BOCC webpage lewiscountywa.gov/offices/commissioners/ and review the Legal Notices about how to testify. Before the public hearing, BOCC will hold three workshops on October 11, October 26 and November 2, 2022. The public is invited to listen to the staff presentations and commissioners’ discussion; however, public comments will not be taken at the workshops. All public comments need to be provided as testimony when the record is open on October 18, 2022. Please check the BOCC Agendas & Calendar, link above, to confirm the dates and times of workshops.
