Lewis County, Washington – November 2, 2022
Lewis County Commissioners consider comprehensive plan amendments
CHEHALIS – The Lewis County Board of County
Commissioners (BOCC) on Tuesday heard
public testimony on seven proposed
amendments to the Lewis County
Comprehensive Plan map and associated
changes to the zoning designations. The
proposals include four rezones – on the hillside
southeast of the De Goede property, at the Adna
Grocery Store, a new surface mine south of
Ethel, and a proposal from the YMCA at Mineral.
In addition, the commissioners heard testimony
on urban growth area (UGA) expansions – along
Scheuber Road outside of Centralia, plus
Chehalis Breen and Chehalis Westlund-
Enbody properties.
The commissioners closed oral testimony
Tuesday afternoon but will continue to accept
written testimony until 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022. Written testimony may be emailed to
mindy.brooks@lewiscountywa.gov or mailed to Lewis County Community Development, c/o Mindy
Brooks, 2025 NE Kresky Avenue, Chehalis, WA 98532. All written testimony must be received by
4:00 p.m. on November 4, 2022.
The BOCC also voted to continue the hearing to November 8, 2022 to deliberate and vote on the
proposals. No oral or written testimony will be taken on November 8.
