Becky Butler provided the following updates: Broadband project • Will meet with the resident engineer June 1 • Washington State Broadband Office (WSBO) has asked that Lewis County help one of its other grantees with their process Current year budget review and 2023 budget planning • Sales tax may be trending downward • Real estate excise tax may be trending downward • Reconciling salaries and benefits • Setting rates • Will review 2024 forecast June 27 • Need actuary study for all funds, including LEOFF, unemployment and workers’ comp • Working with Treasurer’s Office to review revenues • Munis / Open Gov trainings planned for the end of May • Staff developing worst-case scenario plans Opioid settlement funding • Met with Sheriff’s Office, DEM and others to discuss the funding • Stakeholders would like to use opioid funding to purchase Narcan for staff safety • OAC American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) • Reviewing contract with Fox Theatre • Will work with BerryDunn to develop construction contracts to avoid potential funding claw- backs • Public Works has requested LATCF funding to supplement the Reynolds Avenue project Announcements Becky reviewed legislation that could have local funding impacts. She also noted that the Assessor’s Office is implementing a re-org. Meeting adjourned at 2:26 p.m.
