Lee Napier discussed updates to county code regarding RV occupancy. Mindy Brooks asked for
clarification regarding what the commissioners are trying to accomplish with the change.
Commissioner Swope said he wants the county to create an ordinance that prevents individuals from
staying overnight along the side of county streets for more than some determination of time, such as 24
hours or 14 days.
Mindy discussed rules regarding home sites and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). She said the county
can indicate that a property with RVs beyond the allotted one home and one ADU could be treated as an
RV park.
The group discussed updating county code to prohibit camping or sleeping in vehicles on county right of
way.
The commissioners said they’d also like to address properties that have multiple occupied RVs on them.
Commissioner Swope said he will work with the PA’s Office to create an ordinance similar to that of
Friday Harbor, which prohibits camping and sleeping in vehicles in city right of way.
Meja Handlen provided an update on current cases. The group discussed seizing equipment from the
Swigert Road property.
The commissioners discussed their calendars, including legislative meetings planned for Wednesday.
