Department of Transportation (WSDOT), Lewis County Budget Services Manager Becky Butler, Violet

Mossyrock Mayor Randy Sasser said he is working on a resource-sharing opportunity for a street
sweeper.
Representatives for various federal and state offices provided updates, including:
• Cameron Kockritz of Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez’s office discussed funding the congresswoman is
pursuing for Lewis County.
• John Anderson of Gov. Inslee’s office discussed work the governor is doing regarding opioid
funding, etc.
• Paul Mason of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) provided updates
on WSDOT projects and closures. Commissioner Brummer discussed the need to address
needed repairs on Highway 12. Mayor Sasser asked if the state would consider a turn lane at
Winston Creek.
Eric Sonnenberg, Lenee Langdon and Todd Chaput of Economic Alliance (EA) provided updates on work
the EA is doing regarding:
• Tourism, including Discover Lewis County
• Housing
• Events
• Platforms
• Coordination with area entities
• Fish passages
• Legislative work, including Dig Once
• Future plans regarding infrastructure
Commissioner Brummer urged EA to ensure it is collaborating with the county on housing efforts the
county already is working on.
Mayor Sasser invited the group to a ceremony to honor a WWII veteran on June 7.
Peter Lahmann invited the group to a veterans resource fair on June 7.
