Zap Energy Vice President Ryan Umstatd outlined Zap Energy’s plans for a pilot fusion plant at the
Centralia Coal Mine site.
Ryan discussed the following:
• Opportunity, including the hundreds of millions of dollars that would be for construc�on. He
noted that the pilot project could be launching point for global fusion globally.
• Safety
• Economics
• Jobs
Ryan said the process would require deuterium and lithium. He said he will provide informa�on about
how much energy would be extended to create the energy. He noted that the process would require
roughly 25 kilograms of hydrogen and 100 kilograms of lithium per year.
Ryan said he will provide a dra� leter of support.
