ESC Countywide no�fica�on system: Mat Jaeger discussed purchasing a countywide no�fica�on system for safety. Electeds' roundtable / announcements DIRECTORS’ UPDATE Mindy Brooks discussed a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Lewis County Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. Josh Metcalf discussed a resolu�on to authorize a contract between Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments (CWCOG) and Lewis County for costs of transporta�on planning work performed. Doug Carey, Steve Wohld and BJ Kuykendall discussed a resolu�on to award contract for the Fairgrounds Park Water System Rehabilita�on Project. BJ Kuykendall discussed a resolu�on to authorize addi�onal funds to the Parks & Recrea�on Department Revolving Account for star�ng cash change for events. BJ Kuykendall discussed a resolu�on regarding Funds Transfer to Parks and Recrea�on Department revolving working account. Jenn Libby-Jones discussed a resolu�on to approve SECO Coordinator Professional Development (CPD) Contract No. E24-027. Jenn Libby-Jones discussed a resolu�on to list the proposals received and contractor selected for the VHF Radio Engineering Study ARPA project. Lee Napier discussed a resolu�on to approve Director of Community Development to enter into an agreement with Washington State Conserva�on Commission for the purpose of funding to the County for the Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP). Lee Napier discussed a resolu�on to approve an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between Lewis Conserva�on District and Lewis County for technical assistance to the County to implement the Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP). Commissioner Pollock made a mo�on to move one no�ce item, two consent items and eight delibera�on items to the Tuesday, June 27, 2023, BOCC Business Mee�ng agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Mo�on passed 3-0. Rieva Lester noted that there will be two late adds for road vaca�on hearings. Wednesday Workshop Renaming overlook in Commissioner Stamper’s honor: Commissioner Pollock said she will atend the July 19 Washington State Transporta�on Commitee hearing regarding the county’s request to rename the overlook in Commissioner Stamper’s honor. Drug Court vehicle: Stephanie Miller discussed a vehicle Superior Court would like to use for Drug Court. Josh Metcalf noted it will be a low-cost op�on. Commissioner Brummer made a mo�on to approve the purchase of the Drug Court vehicle as requested. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Mo�on passed 3-0. Vader updates: Josh Metcalf provided updates on the Vader Water system and Annonen Road. Public Works refreshments: The group discussed a recent Public Works ribbon-cu�ng event for which refreshments were purchased at a cost of $113.82, an amount that would require BOCC approval – as per sec�on 8.5.3 of the Employee Handbook – because it exceeds the $100 allotment. Commissioner Brummer made a mo�on to approve the overage for the refreshments for the ribbon- cu�ng event, the total for which was $113.82. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Mo�on passed 3-0. Announcements / new business Atendees provided office / department updates. Josh Metcalf said airport master plan mee�ngs are planned for July 11 (East County airport) and July 12 (Toledo airport). Doug Carey said the Sheriff substa�on building has been ordered and that the county has submited its paperwork for permits. BJ Kuykendall discussed rodeo sponsorships. Becky Butler discussed the process for the use of opioid setlement funds. The commissioners said the approvals could be routed through the Public Health and Social Services director. Becky and Josh Metcalf urged offices and departments reach out when using federal funds to ensure the money is tracked and used appropriately. Meja Handlen said 21 dogs were adopted during the shelter’s recent adop�on event. Mee�ng ended at 10:30 a.m.
