Lee Grose provided information regarding the creation of the East Lewis County Public Development
Authority (ELCPDA), which was created in an effort to create jobs to offset the losses linked to the fall of
the logging industry.
Lee said the ELCPDA is requesting the commissioners consider forgiving the remaining balance – roughly
$230,000 – of ELCPDA’s .09 Distressed Counties fund.
Lee said the move would allow the ELCPDA to hire a part-time manager.
Lee said the group meets the second Tuesday the first month of each quarter. He said the group’s next
meeting is 3:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the brewery. Commissioner Brummer said he will attend that meeting.
