BJ said the department grew from 7.5 to 10 full-time employees to cover the fair and parks after the two
departments combined.

Fair has budget of $1.3 million.
General fund request: $217,971.
Parks expenses: $532,380. No general fund support.
In response to questions from Tim Wood, Rachel Churchill and BJ said actual campground revenue is
$48,000 year to date with 15 sites. They said the campgrounds are profitable now, and they discussed
future marketing plans.
BJ said the department currently has one office vacancy, which was posted before the countywide hiring
freeze.
BJ said there has been no evidence of increase in homeless encampments on parks properties.
