Public comment: None.
Agenda changes: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to add to the agenda for the Sept. 26, 2023,
BOCC Business Meeting: Resolution 23-306: Modify Lewis County burn restrictions to allow recreational
fires and solid fuel BBQ use in all lands regulated by Lewis County and Resolution 23-307: Approve
Contract #TSA-ESG-CV Amendment F between The Salvation Army and Lewis County.
Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging (LMTAAA) vacancy: The commissioners said they would
like to extend the application period.
Boundary Review Board staffing: Tammy Martin asked the commissioners to consider moving the BRB
secretary position to Community Development instead of the BOCC. Lee Napier voiced concerns
regarding budgeting. The group discussed the need for the BRB to update its bylaws. The commissioners
directed Tammy and Community Development to establish standard operating procedures. Robert
Bradley said he will provide an update after the BRB meets in December.
Board of Equalization update: Tammy Martin said the Board of Equalization received 963 appeals to be
reviewed in 2023. She said 524 hearings have been scheduled and that 64 property owners have
withdrawn their appeals.
Cowlitz River Basin Flood Control Zone District: Tammy said CRBFCZD has four terms that expired Sept.
13. The commissioners directed staff to open the position up for applications.
WSAC “Planning 101” training in Olympia Oct. 25-26: Mindy Brooks discussed the training she will be
helping lead.
International Institute of Municipal Clerks scholarship letters of support: The commissioners agreed to
sign the letters of support.
