Mayors and other representatives provided updates on city, state and federal work taking place. There were no requests for assistance. Eric Eisenberg discussed loans available that could help with Toledo’s needed water main improvements. Mindy Brooks said work plans for comprehensive plan periodic update are due Sept. 30. She said appropriations likely would then be available by November. Mindy said she is working on an interlocal agreement for cities to work with the county on “existing conditions” portion of the periodic update. Mindy discussed grant funding available to help with the climate piece of the periodic update. Eric said the Thriving Communities grant will launch the following week. Commissioner Swope discussed the county’s recently passed ordinances regarding RV parking and unauthorized camping. Commissioner Pollock discussed an ordinance being drafted to address firefighter safety. Commissioner Brummer discussed an upcoming ballot measure regarding 911 funding. Peter Lahmann discussed training and apprenticeship programs available for veterans. He also invited the group to a Veterans Stand Down event on Sept. 23. Meeting adjourned at 9:39 a.m.
