Public comment: None.
WSU MOU: The group reviewed a proposed WSU MOU. Becky Butler noted that previously stricken
language had been re-added to the newest version. The commissioners directed Gary Fredricks to
correct the MOU and to also change the dates in the termination clause from October to December.
Broadband project: Becky Butler said she has drafted a letter to Commerce to request additional
funds for the Broadband project. The commissioners approved reaching out to Commerce.
Vacancies:
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC): The commissioners said they’d like to postpone
deliberation.
• Board of Equalization: The commissioners directed staff to take steps to fill the vacancies.
• Water District 1: Commissioner Brummer discussed proposed action WD1 is considering
regarding the purchase of a check scanner.
• Flood Control District 2: No update.
Correspondence: The commissioners and Josh Metcalf discussed a letter regarding a site the
county uses for rock storage and the public uses as river access.
Executive session:
At 9:22 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive
session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:38 a.m. to discuss opioid litigation and the night-by-night
shelter.
Executive session ended at 9:38 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been
made.
>> Commissioner Pollock made a motion to authorize Eric Eisenberg to contact the attorney
for the city of Chehalis – as discussed in executive session – to provide addition information
about the night-by-night shelter that the attorney can then use to advise their client.
Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
>> Commissioner Pollock made a motion to authorize Becky Butler to submit required opioid
settlement documents. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
