Commissioner Swope made a motion to add to the agenda an executive session discussion about the Star Tavern complex under RCW 42.30.110(1)(c). Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 3-0. >> ESC Service Desk Plus (SDP): Chris Brewer provided an overview of the new Service Desk Plus. >> DIRECTORS’ UPDATE Becky Butler discussed a notice of hearing to rescind Ordinance 1202. Matt Jaeger discussed a request for proposals (RFP) for Security System Design and Installation for the new Community Development and Information Services building. Matt Jaeger discussed a request for proposals (RFP) for Audio/Video Design and Installation for the new Community Development conference room. Matt Jaeger discussed a declaration of surplus personal property. Josh Metcalf discussed a declaration of surplus vehicles and equipment. Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve an interlocal agreement between Lewis County and the City of Centralia regarding work by county crews and authorize signatures thereon. Meja Handlen discussed a resolution to approve Contract #V02-0215-24 between Lewis County Veterans Memorial Museum and Lewis County. Meja Handlen discussed a resolution to temporarily reduce the adoption fees for adult dogs at the Lewis County Animal Shelter. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move three notice items, two consent items and five deliberation items to the Tuesday, April 26, 2024, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Real estate executive session: At 9:33 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(c) until 9:43 to discuss the Star Tavern complex property. • At 9:43 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 9:48 a.m. Executive session ended at 9:48 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to proceed with a counteroffer as discussed in executive session. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Interlocal agreement with Winlock: The commissioners directed staff to send the proposed agreement to Winlock. Roundtable Becky Butler provided updates, including: • Broadband connection event May 3 • Commerce has approved county’s request for $3.3 million in additional broadband funding • Ross McDowell will take over Safety Officer position. • Budget planning / training planned • FTE reconciliation • New procurement apprenticeship requirements go into effect in July BJ Kuykendall said the state has provided $15,000 more than expected for fair premiums.
