Public comment: None.
Chamber dues: The commissioners approved paying the following chamber dues for the Board of
County Commissioners (BOCC):
• Centralia Chehalis Chamber of Commerce: $285.
• East Lewis County Chamber: $150.
• South Lewis County Chamber: $100.
Executive session: At 9:03 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:18 a.m. to discuss two topics: night-by-night shelter
and proposed property purchase using .09 funds.
Executive session ended at 9:18 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to direct PA to file and serve a complaint against city of Chehalis
pertaining to the night-by-night shelter matter. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-
1, with Commissioner Brummer and Commissioner Swope voting in favor and Commissioner Pollock
opposed.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to direct Eric Eisenberg to move forward with an 0.09 contract
amendment between Lewis County and the Flood Control Zone District to allow for land acquisition
and associated costs to bank properties for potential mitigation. Commissioner Swope seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move that the aforementioned action is a proper use of .09
funds as a management decision now that the commissioners have received legal advice.
Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Eric Johnson goodbye: The commissioners directed staff to draft a goodbye proclamation of sorts to
honor outgoing WSAC Executive Director Eric Johnson.
Civil Service vacancy: The commissioners directed staff to proceed with actions to fill the vacancy on the
Civil Service.
Calendars: Commissioner Pollock noted she will be out of the office April 29 and 30.
