Arny Davis thanked Becky Butler and Matt Jaeger for all the time they’ve devoted to acquiring new
software for the Assessor’s Office and the Treasurer’s Office.
Ross Nielson expressed his thanks as well. Ross said the current software is from 1997. It is outdated and
the are many issues associated with the lack of updates and antiquated software.
Ross said more information will be available to the public with the new software.
Based on the read-ahead sent to the parties involved, there are a few funding sources.
The full conversion is 18-24 months, but Ross feels it is more probable that it will take nearly 3 years to
implement. The costs associated with the new software will be prorated based on the pay schedule
provided. Matt Jaeger said the time for completion is because of the complex data.
Arny said the costs associated with IT services and maintenance for the programs will save money.
Arny suggested having a group meeting with the Tyler Tech representative and Matt Jaeger to explain
the onboarding processes.
Commissioner Pollock recommended using ARPA funds as much as possible and Commissioner Brummer
agreed. There was a discussion of using REET funds, but Commissioner Pollock wanted to ensure there
was appropriate coverage with LEOFF I funds.
The Board will continue the discussion during a future ARPA Meeting.
