Mountain View Cemetery: Ryan Barrett said the county received three bids for the Mountain View
Cemetery. He noted that the county can select the highest and best bid, not just the highest bid. As
such, Ryan said, the review committee recommends awarding the bid to Stephen Morrison, who
submitted a bid of $2,001.
Father Stephen Morrison outlined his plans for the property.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to accept Stephen Morrison’s bid for the Mountain View
Cemetery as proposed. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Risk procedural updates: Becky Butler outlined changes to processing tort claims. She said any tort
claims will be presented to the commissioners for review and that the commissioners also will meet
monthly to receive updates on existing claims.
Rodeo insurance contract: BJ said Lewis County’s rodeo provider, Plus 1 Productions, has been unable
to secure the $5 million aggregate the county requires and has requested the county lower the
requirement to $3 million. He noted that Cowlitz County has lowered its rodeo insurance requirement
from $5 million to $3 million.
The commissioners agreed to require insurance of $3 million per occurrence and $3 million aggregate
for the rodeo.
Change order review: Doug Carey reviewed a $964 change order for R&N Acoustics, and Matt Jaeger
reviewed the three following change orders:
• $1,272 intercom rings
• $4,012 for control room monitors
• $14,937 for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that control jail doors
