Agenda change: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move the following to the agenda for the Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, BOCC Business Meeting: Resolution 24-402: Accept a bid and award Radio Infrastructure Battery Backup System. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Naphcare discussion: Chief Chris Sweet said he is asking the commissioners whether the county would prefer to move forward with Naphcare’s reduced $2.68 million contract offer or whether the commissioners would prefer to issue a request for proposals. Chief Sweet and Undersheriff Kevin Engelbertson cautioned that other entities that issued an RFP received higher-cost proposals. Commissioner Pollock said she’d like to reach out to Arbor Health. Lodging Tax Advisory Committee’s proposed allocations for 2025 funding: The commissioners directed staff to move forward with 2025 allocations as proposed by the committee. Response to Seattle Times op-ed regarding timber harvest: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to sign the response to the recent Seattle Times commentary. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. 2025 Legislative Steering Committee representation: Commissioner Swope said he’d like to remain on the committee. Commissioner Pollock said she’d like to serve as the alternate. Workforce Development Board vacancies: The commissioners directed staff to take steps toward filling the vacancies. Meeting ended at 9:37 a.m.
