Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to accept a bid on tax title property off of Airport Road in Chehalis. Undersheriff Kevin Engelbertson discussed a resolution to approve Lewis County Sheriff's Office fee schedule and mileage rates. John Abplanalp discussed a resolution to approve Consolidated Contract #CLH32057 Amendment #1 between the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and Lewis County. Meja Handlen discussed a resolution to approve Personal Services Agreement Amendment A with Lewis County Community Health (a.k.a. Valley View Health Center) for project management services related to the Lewis County homeless shelter's construction. Meja Handlen discussed a resolution to reappoint six existing members, appoint one new member, and remove one member from positions on the Criminal Justice Treatment Account (CJTA) Panel. Commissioner Swope made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items and five deliberation items to the Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, BOCC Business Meeting agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Wednesday Workshop Cascade Hardwoods BTA appeal: At 9:23 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:30 a.m. to discuss the Cascade Hardwoods BTA appeal. Executive session ended at 9:30 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made. Announcements / new business Fire training center: The commissioners said they will sign the letter of support. Vacancies: The commissioners directed staff to announce vacancies for the Civil Service Commission, ELCPDA, LMTAAA, Southwest Washington Fair Advisory Board, Veterans Advisory Board, Boundary Review Board and the Board of Health. Department heads shared various updates, including: • Jenn Libby-Jones discussed a Toledo site potentially being offered for county use. • Mindy Brooks invited participants to review missions and goals outlined in the draft Comp Plan. • Mindy invited attendees to participate in the Jan. 30 Crockpot Wars. • Meja Handlen said she will reach back out to WSDOT regarding vagrants staying under the I-5 overpass. • Mindy discussed bills for which she plans to provide testimony.
