Karin Phomma discussed a notice of hearing regarding Ordinance 1361, which would rescind and replace Chapters 5.25, 6.05 and 6.15 of county code to transfer animal control duties from Public Health to the Sheriff's Office. Gary Fredricks discussed a resolution to approve a memorandum of agreement between Lewis County and Washington State University (WSU) Extension. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items and one deliberation item to the Tuesday, March 18, 2025, BOCC Business Meeting agenda. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Announcements / new business Geoff Soderquist said he is reviewing potential complications regarding the county’s Vader Water project. Angie Hodge said HR and Ryan Barrett are preparing to begin collective bargaining efforts. Mindy Brooks said affected landowners have been notified about planned changes to the comp plan. Wednesday Workshop .09 / Distressed Counties loan and grant applications: Commissioner Pollock discussed the possibility of using .09 bonds to fund large projects such as Ceres Hill Road and Packwood sewer. Becky Butler said she would gather data on the proposal. Meeting ended at 9:40 a.m.
