2025-03-31 Wrap Up CMBOCC Wrap-Up / County Manager Update March 31, 2025 9:01 a.m. Present: Commissioner Brummer, Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, County Manager Ryan Barrett, Becky Butler, Troy Nichols, Josh Weiss, Geoff Soderquist, Graham Gowing, Meja Handlen, Michelle Sauter, Sherri Dokken, Tom Stanton, Jenn Libby-Jones, Linda Mastin Guest(s): Recorder: Rieva Lester Public comment: None. 2025 Legislative Session updates: Josh Weiss and Troy Nichols provided updates regarding the 2025 Legislative Session. Troy said the state appears poised to put the North Lewis County Interchange funding back on track. Josh noted that the state also appears poised to provide additional reimbursements for indigent defense and that leaders are attempting to identify funding for culvert replacements. 911 Director position: County Manager Ryan Barrett discussed a recent salary study for the 911 Director position. He said HR’s recent grade study recommends increasing the position from a grade 133 to a grade 135 or 136. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to increase the 911 Director position to a grade 135. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. East Lewis County Public Development Authority (ELCPDA) Distressed Counties grant request: Commissioner Brummer discussed the ELCPDA’s request that the county forgive its .09 Distressed Counties loan. Commissioner Brummer suggested the board consider continuing the loan but to change the amortization schedule to a 20-year loan with zero interest. The commissioners said they would potentially support such a move. LMTAAA vacancies: The commissioners directed staff to draft a resolution to appoint the three applicants.
