2016-01-11 Meeting with the Sheriff - CopyMeeting with the Sheriff
January 11, 2016
1:20 pm
Present: Commissioners Schulte, Fund and Stamper, Wes Rethwill and Sheriff Snaza
Recorder: Karri Muir
There was discussion on how the 911 Department should be run in the county.
Sheriff Snaza believes the best way to run a 911 Center is to have a civilian manager. The Sheriff’s Office
is there to help run the 911 Center until the situation is resolved. If there is an effective manager, a
director is there to assist where needed. He feels this is a good time to bring in a “board” to get buy I in
or ownership from all the stakeholders.
Wes noted that the Sheriff’s Department could run the 911 Center, but will harm his office and they will
have to drop something that they are working on.
Sheriff Snaza suggested a six month time to help with the 911 Center. If the BOCC has someone in mind,
his department will do whatever it takes to assist the center in running.
Commissioner Fund is concerned with the technology issues in the center. Commissioner Schulte noted
that some of the issues are being taking care of.
Meeting ended at 2:00 pm.
