Present: Commissioners Schulte, Stamper and Fund, Steve Walton, Lee Coumbs, Archie Smith and

Commissioner Fund stated she called the meeting to discuss the interim Fair Manager position.
Lee noted that he was the Fair Manager for five years.
There was discussion on how a Fair Manager would be hired in Lewis County. Commissioner Stamper
asked if there are any different ways to get the word out for a Fair Manager. Commissioner Schulte is
okay hiring an interim at this point. He feels comfortable going with a recruiter until a manager can be
hired. We are interested in hiring Mr. Coumbs for the interim.
Lee noted that he is comfortable with being the interim manager. He noted that the community has lost
faith in the Fair organization. The trust needs be recreated.
Commissioner Schulte noted that the direction of the Commissioners would like to see the Fairgrounds
full year round. The Commissioners would like to see someone to pull the fair out of the dumps.
Lee noted that there are things that he cannot do if he is hired for the interim. He does not do
accounting. He has prior commitments that will need to be honored.
There was discussion on employees at the Fair and if the part time employee should be hired at 100%.
Lee noted that in the present conditions, the fairgrounds cannot make money. Commissioner Schulte
acknowledged this and the Commissioners know that there are changes that need to be made.
Steve will work out the hiring details. Archie will look into the retirement and if there are any issues.
