Subject: Director Compensation Adjustments
The purpose of this memorandum is to request your authorization to implement salary
adjustments for two of our department directors: Meja Handlen and Mindy Brooks.
Both Meja and Mindy have submitted formal compensation adjustment requests (attached),
which I fully support. These recommended adjustments recognize their outstanding leadership,
deep industry experience, and dedicated service to Lewis County. Additionally, the proposed
changes address internal equity among our leadership team and align with our broader
commitment to retaining and investing in high-performing leaders.
I respectfully recommend approving a salary adjustment for both Meja Handlen and Mindy
Brooks, placing each at Grade 133, Step 10, effective August 1, 2025.
