Public comment: None.
Business Meeting agenda: Commissioner Pollock made a motion, and Commissioner Brummer
seconded, to add to the following resolutions to the agenda for the Dec. 23 BOCC Business Meeting:
• Resolution 25-383: Award contract for Three Tower Modifications project to Day Wireless for
remediation at Cooks Hill, Hopkins and Baw Faw sites.
• Resolution 25-385: Approve updates to the Lewis County Employee Handbook to align with
2026 collective bargaining agreements and county policy.
• Resolution 25-388: Approve a personal services agreement with Robert K. Weidner.
The motion passed 2-0.
2025 budget amendment hearing (recessed from Dec. 16 Business Meeting): Becky Butler discussed
the upcoming budget amendment hearing.
Executive session: At 9:06 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:12 a.m. to discuss the Presidential Executive Order
regarding cannabis.
At 9:12 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 9:15 a.m.
Executive session ended at 9:15 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Holiday(s): County Manager Ryan Barrett discussed a recent Presidential Executive Order regarding
additional December holidays. He noted that the county follows the state schedule, not the federal
schedule. The commissioners said they will stick with the county’s holiday calendar as previously
adopted.
Flooding update: Erika Katt provided updates regarding displaced flood survivors. Geoff Soderquist
discussed hours for the temporary debris site in Packwood. Erika said the county will meet with Ecology
to discuss RVs that are located submerged in the Cowlitz River. She said the county also is discussing
with the state what can be done with RVs destroyed by the floods.
Vader water: Geoff said the county will forward the city of Vader’s intent regarding the water system
along to the state after legal review.
Timberland Regional Library Board of Trustees vacancy: Rieva Lester said it appears Hal Blanton is
eligible to again serve on the TRL Board of Trustees because his initial service was for an unexpired term.
Dangerous Animal Designation (DAD) Board applications: The commissioners said they will review the
applications received for the DAD board vacancy on Dec. 29.
