2026-01-21 FC Aud TreasFinance Committee / Auditor / Treasurer Update January 21, 2026 10:35 a.m. Present: Commissioner Brummer, Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, County Manager Ryan Barrett, Arny Davis, Noah Hudson, Grace Jimenez, Graham Gowing, Larry Grove, Becky Butler Guest(s): None Recorder: Tammy Martin Public comment: None Finance Committee: Commissioner Brummer started the Finance Committee portion of the meeting at 10:35 a.m. Arny Davis presented the Investment summary, the investment detail reports, the direct investment reports and the investment policy update. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve the investment policy as presented to the Board. Larry Grove seconded. Motion passed 3-0. The Finance Committee Update ended at 10:44 a.m. Treasurer’s Office Update: Arny Davis reported that interest rates remain high and that investment interest is expected to generate solid returns. He noted that sales and use tax receipts are currently below projections; however, Becky Butler clarified that the reports are two months behind. Arny also reported that lodging tax receipts show a year-over-year increase of 4.1%. Auditor’s Office Update: Grace Jimenez reported that some expenditures are currently over budget; however, revenues for the fourth quarter are still being received. She noted that general fund transfers are budgeted but have not yet been completed. Grace also explained that Vader Water is over budget in salaries but under budget in operations, and that a transfer will correct this. Larry Grove said 20,600 ballots were issued for Centralia, Boistfort and Onalaska school districts. Larry reported that the Licensing Department is currently recruiting for a position. The Commissioners directed staff to update the ordinances to reflect the direction regarding the Mental Health Tax and the Lodging Tax interest. Meeting adjourned at 11:02 am
