Re: Salary Analysis
The Auditor’s Office is requesting support of an increase in grade for the Chief Deputy
Auditor positions. Currently, the Chief Deputy Auditor position, filled by two individuals
(Financial Services and Licensing/Recording/Elections) are grade 126. This grade was
established during the countywide salary study in 2021.
Since the completion of the 2021 salary study, several positions within the Auditor’s Office,
as well as comparable leadership positions throughout the county, have increased in grade
level. As organizational responsibilities and comparable classifications have evolved, the
Chief Deputy Auditor positions are now due for review and adjustment to maintain internal
equity and market competitiveness.
There are currently five other Chief Deputy or Administrator-equivalent positions in other
elected offices classified at Grade 127.
The requested adjustment would align the Chief Deputy Auditor positions with comparable
county leadership roles and better reflect the scope of responsibilities associated with these
positions.
