Public comment: None.
Executive session: At 9 a.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:05 a.m. with Chief Civil DPA David Bailey to discuss
Vader Water. Becky Butler, Ryan Barrett, Geoff Soderquist and Anders Pollman also joined for the
discussion.
• At 9:05 a.m., Commissioner Pollock extended executive session until 9:10 a.m.
• At 9:10 a.m., Commissioner Pollock extended executive session until 9:12 a.m.
• At 9:12 a.m., Commissioner Pollock extended executive session until 9:14 a.m.
Executive session ended at 9:14 a.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to authorize the settlement authority regarding the Vader water
transfer as discussed in executive session. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Port of Centralia / Centralia mediation update: Mindy Brooks said the county has attended five
mediation sessions with the port and city regarding the warehouse moratorium. She said the groups are
awaiting LBC’s June 9 presentation to the Centralia City Council.
Contract amendment: Geoff Soderquist discussed Supplement 3 to CRP-2198 with KPFF for the Davison
Rd MP 0.01 Bridge Rehabilitation Project (Fed Aid BHOS-2021(075), which was approved via Resolution
23-395 on Dec. 12, 2023 (and the funding for which was approved via Resolution 22-300).
Commissioner Swope made a motion to approve Supplement 3 to agreement CRP-2198 with KPFF.
Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Veterans Memorial Museum request for Veterans of Valor letter of support: Meja Handlen discussed
the request for a letter of support regarding the Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grant. The
commissioners agreed to sign the letter of support.
Records cleanup: The group reviewed recent records cleanup efforts.
Minute folders: Commissioner Swope made a motion to approval minutes for the weeks of April 20,
April 27, May 4 and May 11, 2026. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Calendar: The commissioners directed staff to cancel the Aug. 11 Business Meeting as it falls on the
opening day of the Southwest Washington Fair.
