Public comment: None.
Ryan Barrett discussed a call for bids for Friendlyville project.
Becky Butler discussed a notice of hearing for Lewis County 2026 budget emergency and supplemental
appropriations to and transfers within current expense and various funds.
Matt Patana discussed a resolution to accept a grant for the restoration and preservation of the Historic
Lewis County Courthouse.
Natalie Kamieniecki discussed a hearing for Ordinance 1377, which would amend Lewis County Code to
create Chapter 1.30 - Development Agreements.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to move two notice items, two consent items, one deliberation
item and one hearing to the Tuesday, June 9, 2026, BOCC Business Meeting agenda. Commissioner
Brummer seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Announcements / new business: Department representatives provided department updates, including
the following:
• Internal Service rates due June 8
• Risk handbook training June 4
• 508 Shop work begins June 4
• Ceres Hill Bridge Road project and Meade Hill slide repair project on schedule
• Berrick Creek culvert project to kick off later in the month
• Carr Road slide repair to begin later in the month
• State to open Koontz Road overpass June 16
• State to pave sections of I-5 and Highway 12 this summer
• Community Development permit-processing timelines all within state’s requirements
• WIC Cookoff July 1
• Facilities has completed an agreement for lawn care services
Wednesday Workshop
Solid Waste reclassification request: Geoff Soderquist outlined a request to reclassify the Solid Waste
Operation Specialist and Solid Waste Operation Specialist Senior positions.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to approve the reclassifications of the Solid Waste Operations
Specialist and Solid Waste Operations Specialist Senior positions as outlined effective June 16, 2026.
Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Ordinance 1377: Natalie Kamieniecki and Mindy Brooks provided an overview of Ordinance 1377, which
would create Chapter 1.30 - Development Agreements - in Lewis County Code to establish procedures
and standards.
