07.11.22 BOH MinutesLEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON BOARD OF HEALTH BOARD MEETING MINUTES July 11, 2022 1:30 p.m. The Board of Health for Lewis County Washington met in regular session on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. COMMISSIONERS F. LEE GROSE, AND LINDSEY R. POLLOCK, DVM, attended. CHAIR POLLOCK determined a quorum, called the meeting to order, and proceeded with the flag salute. The Zoom guidelines were addressed by Javier Mejia. COMMISSIONER GROSE moved to approve the Minutes from the regular meeting on June 13, 2022, COMMISSIONER POLLOCK seconded. Motion carried 2 -0. ATTENDEES: County Staff: Community: Meja Handlen Jadeyn Goodman John Abplanalp Nicole Byrd Jami Lund Javier Mejia None None PUBLIC COMMENT CONSENT AGENDA PUBLIC HEALTH UPDATE Jami Lund provided a Public Health & Social Services (PUSS) Advisory Board Update, including the following highlights: • Provided a handout with the Advisory Board's newly adopted strategic calendar this also lists Public Health and Social Service's current programs and their scheduled presentations to the Advisory Board Meja Handlen provided a Public Health update, including the following highlights: • Introduced Nicole Byrd - newest staff member working within community outreach services for housing homeless with a focus in the rental assistance programs • Currently interviewing to fill the vacancies within the Environmental Health Division • Office restructure is occurring to help comfortably fit staff into the new building • Plans to present additional funding optionsTrom the Department of Health related to Foundational Public Health Services (FPHS) and how the department plans to utilize that funding John Abplanalp provided the following highlights regarding COVIDI9: • Within June 231- 291" Lewis County had 185 cases, the case rate is increasing but still below state rate • Washington State rate has plateaued • Lewis County hospitalization rate decreasing, however the data fluctuates due to small numbers, and more data will need to be obtained before determining a trend • Lewis County had 20 hospitalizations, which is currently 2.5 times the state rate BOH Minutes 07/11/2022 Page 1 of 2 There was no Health Officer update provided, as the Zoom link for the meeting listed on the agenda was inaccurate. Meja Handlen canceled remainder of the meeting. Commissioner GROSE moved to adjourn. Commissioner POLLOCK seconded, Commissioner POLLCK adjourned. Due to technical difficulties no further business was discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 1:46 p.m., on Monday, July 11, 2022.
