WHEREAS, the members of the Lewis County Board of Health are required by
RCW 70.05.040, to elect a chair at the first meeting to serve for the year 2023; AND
WHEREAS, an election having been held with each of the Board of Health
Members present having an equal vote; AND
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to appoint Lindsey R.
Pollock, DVM as Chair of the Board of Health for 2023 and Sean D. Swope as Vice
Chair,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lewis County Board of Health that
Lindsey R. Pollock, DVM be appointed as Chair for the Board of Health and Sean D.
Swope be appointed as Vice Chair for the year 2023.
DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 9th day of January, 2023.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
to
Elect Chair and Vice Chair
to the Lewis County Board of Health
Purpose of Resolution:
To elect a Chair and a Vice Chair of the Lewis County Board of Health to serve
for a period of one year (2023).
This Resolution is based on RCW 70.05.040 which states, "At the first meeting
of the local board of health, the members shall elect a chair to serve for a
period of one year." A copy of this Revised Code of Washington is printed
below:
RCW 70.05.040
Local board of health — Chair— Administrative officer— Vacancies.
The local board of health shall elect a chair and may appoint an administrative
officer. A local health officer shall be appointed pursuant to RCW 70.05.050.
Vacancies on the local board of health shall be filled by appointment within thirty
days and made in the same manner as was the original appointment. At the first
meeting of the local board of health, the members shall elect a chair to serve for a
period of one year.
