OF LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Approving Supplement No. 1 with SCJ Alliance for } RESOLUTION 18- 0 50
the Borst Avenue Improvement Project }
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) ratified a consultant contract
with SCJ Alliance for the Borst Avenue Improvement Project by Resolution 17-127 on May 1,
2017. The contract allowed negotiation for additional future phases for final design, bidding
support and construction engineering once construction funding was acquired; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 17-377 was approved by the BOCC which accepted
Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funding for the Borst Avenue Improvement Project;
and
WHEREAS, Public Works staff has negotiated a contract in the amount of $567,734.00
with SCJ Alliance for final design, bidding support and construction engineering for the project;
and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC has determined that execution
of Supplement No. 1 to the SCJ Alliance contract for the Borst Avenue Improvement Project
is in the best public interest and is hereby approved and the Director of Public Works is
authorized to sign the same.

Description
SCJ Alliance was awarded a preliminary design consultant contract by Resolution 17-127 on May 1,2017. The
preliminary design contract allowed for negotiation of additional future phases if funding for the project was
acquired. Borst Avenue received Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) funding in the amount of
$3,787,140.00. Public Works staff negotiated Supplement No. 1 with SCJ Alliance in the amount of
$567,734.00 for additional phases of final design,bidding support and construction engineering. This
Resolution will authorize the Director of Public Works to execute Supplement No. 1 in the amount of
$567,734.00.
