WHEREAS, Resolution 06-189 established the Lewis County VAB; AND
WHEREAS, membership on the VAB shall be comprised of no less than seven regular and
two alternate members. With two positions vacant, the following have expressed interest and a
desire to serve on the VAB in the following manner: appoint Gary Graveline as a regular member
and Andrew Short as an alternate member. Their terms will be effective when approved through
June 30, 2019; AND
WHEREAS, Marie Shankle has expressed interest and a desire to serve on the VAB as an
alternate member which will be effective when approved through June 30, 2018; AND
WHEREAS, the VAB needs members to fill these positions; AND
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has reviewed the applications of
the above individuals and recommends appointment to the VAB;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the BOCC that Gary Graveline be appointed as a
regular member and Andrew Short as an alternate member of the Lewis County VAB from date
approved through June 30, 2019 and Marie Shankle be appointed as an alternate member of the
VAB effective when approved through June 30, 2018.

Description
The Veterans' Advisory Board was organized per Resolution 06-189. Per Lewis County Veterans Advisory
Board bylaws, membership on the Board comprises of no less than seven regular members and two alternate
members. One regular and one alternate position are currently vacant.
'Appoint Gary Graveline (currently alternate) to regular position vacated by Mr. Spahn through June 30, 2019.
'Appoint Marie Shankle as an alternate member to fill William Linn's position through June 30, 2018.
